Marilyn Minus

Marilyn Minus is the Professor and Chair for the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Northeastern University in Boston, MA, USA. She serves on the Board of Directors for Hexcel Corporation.

She holds the position of Director of the Macromolecular Innovation in Nano-materials Utilizing Systems Laboratory, also known as the MINUS-lab. Marilyn Minus earned her Ph.D. from the Georgia Institute of Technology in the field of Polymer, Textile, and Fiber Engineering.

Her research is centered around addressing sustainability challenges with a primary focus on the development of energy-efficient lightweight materials. Her work involves the study of natural hierarchical systems to inform the design and fabrication of structural materials. These materials are primarily based on bio-polymer and high-polymer nano-composites.
